A lot of hunters start by searching "electric hunting golf cart" or "hunting golf cart." That makes sense. You want something quiet, something with no exhaust smell, and something that fits the trails on your land better than a full-size machine. You want to reach the stand without waking every deer on the ridge.

Trail Buggy® is built for that job, but it is not a golf cart. It isn't a lifted golf cart with hunting add-ons either. Trail Buggy® is a purpose-built electric hunting UTV, designed from the ground up for hunting and farm access, and built in Spartanburg, SC. Golf Cart vs. Electric Hunting UTV: What's Actually Different

A golf cart and a small electric UTV can look alike. The difference is what each was built for. Golf carts are made for mowed grass and paved paths, and converted hunting carts add a lift and accessories to that platform. Trail Buggy® starts from hunting ground.

Tires

Golf carts typically run small turf or street tires, and lifted carts often swap in larger wheels. Trail Buggy® comes standard on 25" 8-ply UTV off-road tires (25x10-12). The 8-ply construction is about durability and traction on roots, rocks, stubble, and wet leaves.

Suspension and ground clearance

Many carts use a basic suspension tuned for smooth ground. Every Trail Buggy® model, 2WD included, has independent front and rear suspension, so each wheel handles ruts, washouts, and field edges on its own. Ground clearance depends on the setup, so tell us about your worst crossing when you ask for pricing.

Brakes

Stopping matters more on a wet downhill than on a fairway. Trail Buggy® has four-wheel disc brakes on every model, plus an automatic electric park brake. It sets itself when you park or switch off, holding you on slopes while you load a stand, a deer, or feed.

Camo

A lot of hunting carts, and some competitors, use a generic dipped or wrapped camo pattern. Trail Buggy® offers licensed TrueTimber®, Realtree®, and Mossy Oak® camo. TrueTimber® Strata is a customer favorite.

4WD

Most golf carts are rear-drive. Trail Buggy® comes in 2WD or true dual-motor 4WD. The 4WD models add a front motor and a front controller, for two 5k AC motors and two 600-amp Navitas controllers, so you have drive at both ends in mud, on hills, in timber, and on soft farm roads.

Built for the work

Every Trail Buggy® also comes standard with a 70V lithium battery (105Ah, 165Ah upgrade available), a steel brush guard with winch mount, front and rear 2" hitch receivers, a green/white or red/white LED light bar, gun rack options, and a folding rear cargo box that converts to a seat. A 3,500 lb winch bundle is optional.

Honest limits: typical range is 20–25 miles, and up to 30 miles is possible depending on speed, load, terrain, and driving style. Top speed is factory-limited to 25 mph. Trail Buggy® is 58" wide and 121" long (138" for the XL). That's narrower than many full-size UTVs, but still measure your tightest gap before you buy.

All three models share the same purpose-built platform, suspension, brakes, battery, and standard accessory package.

• Trail Buggy® 2WD, from $23,900. Single motor and controller, rear drive. A good fit for land that's mostly trails, fields, managed roads, and moderate grades. If you rarely fight deep mud or steep climbs, 2WD is often the right balance of capability, range, and cost.

• Trail Buggy® 4WD, from $26,900. Dual-motor 4WD for hunters who leave the maintained trails: mud, hills, timber, and soft ground. Same 121" length as the 2WD.

• Trail Buggy® 4WD XL, from $29,900. The same 4WD platform on a longer 138" chassis, with an extra row of forward-facing seats. Built for hunting with family or a group. If you mostly ride solo or two-up, the standard 4WD or 2WD may be the better fit, and we'll tell you so.

Is Trail Buggy® a golf cart?

No. Plenty of people find us by searching "hunting golf cart," but Trail Buggy® is not a golf cart or a lifted golf cart with hunting add-ons. It is a purpose-built electric hunting UTV with independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and 25" 8-ply UTV tires.

Why not just lift a golf cart and add hunting accessories?

For light use on smooth ground, that may be enough. But a converted cart still starts from a platform built for grass and pavement. Trail Buggy® is designed for hunting ground from the start.

Do I need 2WD or 4WD?
